DOWN TO EARTH
The true believers have gathered once again for the North American UFO Convention. There's Boo Weston, a wistful young woman with a troubled past who wants everyone to get along. There's Dale, the paranoid head of security and Gunther Van Owen, the head of the 5th Column and owner of what he claims is an alien finger. In short, the usual suspects gathered for the usual squabbles, petty betrayals and egotistical grandstanding. The routine is disrupted by the arrival of Max Buford, a haggard figure who claims to have worked in Area 51 and has in his possession what appears to be a fragment from an alien spaceship. Max's arrival causes a flurry activity, as the fragment's true origins are thrown into question, Boo's faith in aliens is sorely tested and Gunther conspires to discredit Boo. When Max turns up dead and Boo discovers the mysterious fragment hidden in his hotel room, the plot thickens with the specter of government conspiracy and cover-ups. But who is conspiring and what are they covering up?
